Adam Stringer

Co-Founder and Director of OneCall24 Healthcare

Adam has worked in complex care provision and nursing led care for over 15 years, working with the NHS/ICB’s, Case Managers, and private clients, providing high quality care in peoples own homes. Adam has always worked in care, as from a very early age he was a key care provider for his own mother, who lives with a very complex physical disability. This experience led Adam back into complex nursing care and support, where he has built a career through focussing on supporting the delivery of person-centred care delivered to thousands of people in their own homes throughout the UK. Adam has an exceptional track record in this field, particularly when it comes to building strong teams that deliver improved outcomes and user experience for his clients. When asked about what it critical to the successful delivery of a person-centred package of care, Adam said “The client and their person-centred care needs always remain at the heart of everything that we do. If we lead with quality, everything else will follow”!

Caroline Cairns

Head of Clinical Excellence

Caroline is a registered adult nurse, who qualified in 2000 from King Alfred’s University College, Winchester after finding her passion for nursing in her teens through St Johns Ambulance. Her career started in the NHS, but soon found her way into the community working with private health providers. During her 20-year career, she has worked on a variety of different projects but found her passion within the complex care field, delivering and managing packages of care to those with complex needs such as ventilation, ABI and spinal injuries. As her job role suggests, she will settle for no less than excellence within all areas of care and works to the underpinning value of ‘would I want my family cared for like this?’. When not working she can be found down at a river on her paddleboard or out walking her dog.

Chloe Joseph

Operations Manager

Hello, I am Chloe, I have worked in the Health and Social care industry for approximately 9 years working with Social workers, CAMHS teams, Case Managers, NHS etc. I have worked for the biggest Learning Disability Charity for many years and worked my way through all the way from HCA, Peer Mentor, Assistant Service Manager; until I ran Learning Disability homes. Prior to coming into the Health Sector, I managed businesses within the hospitality sector during and after graduating University. Complex care is something I became incredibly passionate about, due to an immediate family member of mine having many complex conditions from brittle epilepsy, blindness, scoliosis and life threatening respiratory vulnerabilities which impacted us greatly as a family; but changed my whole outlook on life. I was able to understand first-hand the struggles which clients and their families experience. This made me feel I wanted to make a difference, and always have the client at the forefront of everything I put my hand to. Complex care is a passion of mine and something I strive to improve with service delivery and a person-centred approach.

Sian Shelton

Paediatric Nurse Manager

My name is Sian, I live in Lincoln and after working as a Nanny I wanted to give more to the children I cared for, so I completed my Nurse training and qualified as a Paediatric Nurse 28 years ago from Sheffield University.  During my years working as a nurse, I have gained a plethora of experience and knowledge.  I was initially ward based for the NHS but then travelled overseas to work at a prestigious children’s hospital in New Zealand, gaining experience in PICU, A&E, specialist surgical and medical wards and in forensic evidence in Paediatric abuse cases.  I then returned to the UK and continued with the NHS. A few years and children later, I was looking for a new challenge and was successful in becoming a Clinical lead Nurse at a children’s hospice.  Thoroughly enjoying the experience and joy I got from working with the complex care children and seeing the lack of nurse based complex care companies providing care in the home I decided to move on to work with care in the clients’ homes, which is nurse led, client centered, holistic and provides optimum support so the client can reach their potential and have as full and active life as possible.  It is a pleasure to work with my colleagues who all have an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience.  We all have the same goals in mind and are all as passionate as each other in continuing to provide excellent care for our wonderful complex needs clients in their own homes and supporting the whole care team to reach their potentials in the care they provide.

Richard Burton

Paediatric Nurse Manager

My name is Richard and I am a registered Paediatric Nurse living in Cornwall. I started my paediatric healthcare journey 11 years ago working as a carer, looking after children with complex health conditions; including palliative care. Since this moment I have always had a passion for complex care. Since then, I gained my professional registration and have worked on the Acute Paediatrics Ward, the Paediatric Emergency Department and my local Children’s Hospice; as well as having children of my own. I ensure that all care facilitated by myself is to the highest standard, making sure the child and family are placed in the very centre of all of their care needs and decision making.

Julia Smith

Nurse Manager

I began my nursing career in Plymouth the 80’s in fact where my mum did her nurse training and where she met my father who was an SHO. I have worked in many different areas of nursing; prison health, spinal injuries and orthopaedics to name a few. I worked in secondary care being hospital based until 2011 but remained within the NHS until 2017.  I have worked in the capacity of modern matron and have previously been a registered manager. Throughout my nursing career I have enjoyed challenging myself and most recently gained a PGC in Health and Social Care. I did this whilst working full time and raising my 2 children as a single parent. All this experience gave me varied but very valuable skills and understanding, which I now use in Complex Care.  I am a mother grandmother to 4 wonderful children. I enjoy upholstery, skiing, reading and cooking. I have a cat and a dog who loves long walks and swimming.
