Adam Stringer

Co-Founder and Director of OneCall24 Healthcare

Adam Stringer has over 15 years of experience in complex care provision and nursing-led care. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with the NHS, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), case managers, and private clients to provide high-quality, personalised care to individuals in their homes. Adam’s passion for care began early, as he was a key caregiver for his mother, who lives with a complex physical disability. This experience profoundly shaped his career, giving him firsthand insight into the value of person-centred care.

His extensive experience in healthcare has enabled him to build strong, high-performing teams that deliver exceptional client outcomes. Adam is deeply committed to quality and believes that leading with care excellence ensures everything else will follow.

Caroline Cairns

Head of Clinical Development

Caroline Cairns is a registered adult nurse who qualified in 2000 from King Alfred’s University College in Winchester. Her passion for healthcare started in her teenage years through her involvement with St John’s Ambulance. She began her career in the NHS, later transitioning to private health providers, where she developed expertise in managing complex care packages.

Over her 20-year career, Caroline has led care projects for patients with ventilation needs, acquired brain injuries (ABI), and spinal injuries. Her experience spans a variety of settings, from hospitals to home-based care, ensuring her clients receive optimal care tailored to their needs. Caroline’s guiding principle is:

“Would I want my family cared for like this?”

In her spare time, Caroline enjoys paddleboarding and walking her dog along riversides, finding a balance between work and personal life.

Chloe Joseph

Senior Operations Manager and Registered Manager

Chloe Joseph brings nearly a decade of experience in health and social care, working with social workers, CAMHS teams, case managers, and the NHS. Chloe’s journey started with hands-on roles as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) and Peer Mentor before she moved into management positions, eventually overseeing Learning Disability homes.

Her passion for complex care is rooted in personal experiences with a close family member who has multiple medical conditions, including brittle epilepsy, blindness, scoliosis, and respiratory vulnerabilities. This personal connection gives Chloe unique insight into the challenges families face, inspiring her commitment to making a positive difference in every client’s life.

Chloe’s approach is driven by a person-centred philosophy. She ensures that clients and their families remain at the heart of every service she delivers.

Philomena Odumenya

Registered Manager

Philomena is a qualified nurse and midwife with many years of experience to date. As a clinical lead, she has over 11 years’ experience within the Healthcare recruitment industry. Her career this far has taken her to different heights, from delivering patient care within worldwide renowned UK hospitals to filming a 3 series TV healthcare programme with Doctor Christian Jessen. Her passion is to continue achieving clinical excellence and maintain high standards in management & practice.

Donna Mullikin

Clinical Services Manager

My name is Donna, I live in Cornwall, I’m a registered nurse, I trained as an adult nurse at Plymouth university. I have worked in healthcare for 27 years in various settings. I have been working in complex homecare since 2011 as a lead nurse then progressing into Nurse Manager. Complex care is my passion, I believe everything that we do should focus on the person and their unique circumstances, delivering person-centered care throughout.

Melanie Raufi

Nurse Manager

Hello, I’m Melanie, and I am a Registered Adult Nurse with many years of experience in various fields including chemotherapy administration and palliative care. I worked for the NHS until 2008 when I went to work in the community with private health providers. I have now been working within complex care for 6 years. My vision is to provide a flexible care approach and aim for the highest quality of care and support for individuals that have bespoke complex and changing needs.

Dahima Smith

Nurse Manager

I’m Dahima Smith, a Registered Adult Nurse with a decade of experience spanning NHS, private hospitals, and community care. My passion lies in complex care nursing, where I provide holistic, person-centered support. I’m dedicated to achieving positive outcomes and continually strive for excellence. Outside of nursing, I’m a proud mum, a family-oriented individual, and I enjoy spending time with loved ones and pursuing hobbies like cycling and music.

Sian Shelton

Paediatric Clinical Lead

Sian Shelton brings 28 years of experience in paediatric nursing, with a wealth of knowledge gained both in the UK and overseas. Her career has taken her from hospital wards to prestigious children’s hospitals in New Zealand, where she gained expertise in intensive care, A&E, and paediatric forensic work.

Sian’s passion lies in delivering nurse-led, client-centred care within family homes, ensuring children can reach their full potential with optimal support. She enjoys working alongside like-minded colleagues who share her passion for providing excellent care.

Erika Olajos

Nursing Team Manager

Erika Olajos has been a nurse since 2003 and has extensive experience across various complex care roles. She joined OneCall24 Healthcare in December and has quickly become an integral part of the team. Erika’s passion for care is rooted in her desire to provide high-quality, compassionate support to patients and their families.

Reflecting on her experience with OneCall24 Healthcare, Erika says:

Kareena Symons

Clinical Lead

Kareena Symons has been a qualified nurse for 24 years, initially specialising in children’s nursing. Throughout her career, she has supported children and adults, ensuring they receive the care they need to live fulfilling lives.

Kareena’s passion for nursing extends beyond her professional life. As a single mother, she spends much of her free time with her daughter, attending horse shows and caring for their animals. This balance between personal and professional responsibilities has given Kareena a unique perspective on delivering patient care with empathy and understanding.

Antonina Bunea

Community Clinical Lead

Gabby Bunea has extensive experience working in Intensive Care within a military hospital. Her time in the ICU has shaped her approach to nursing, teaching her the value of patience, compassion, and continuous learning. Gabby is passionate about critical care and thrives on learning from her colleagues to improve her practice.

Maria Micu

Community Clinical Lead

Maria Micu has always wanted to become a nurse, finding joy in helping others. Since arriving in the UK nine years ago, Maria has worked in various nursing settings, steadily progressing from a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to her current role as a Community Clinical Lead.

Her dedication to hands-on care and commitment to learning have shaped her career. Maria takes pride in supporting individuals and providing high-quality care to meet her patients’ unique needs.

Andy Vasey

Paediatric Clinical Lead

Andy Vasey is a registered paediatric nurse based in North Devon with 12 years of experience across hospital settings, hospices, and community care. His career includes work in high-dependency units, A&E, and children’s wards. Since 2018, Andy has focused on complex home care, finding great fulfilment in supporting children with complex health needs.

Andy views complex care as a privilege, enabling him to provide personalised support within family homes. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the beaches of Devon and Cornwall with his dogs or travelling abroad to experience new cultures.

Richard Burton

Paediatric Nurse Manager

My name is Richard and I am a registered Paediatric Nurse living in Cornwall. I started my paediatric healthcare journey 11 years ago working as a carer, looking after children with complex health conditions; including palliative care. Since this moment I have always had a passion for complex care. Since then, I gained my professional registration and have worked on the Acute Paediatrics Ward, the Paediatric Emergency Department and my local Children’s Hospice; as well as having children of my own. I ensure that all care facilitated by myself is to the highest standard, making sure the child and family are placed in the very centre of all of their care needs and decision making.

Julia Smith

Clinical Lead

Julia Smith began her nursing career in Plymouth in the 1980s and has worked across various healthcare fields, including prison health, spinal injuries, and orthopaedics. Her career includes roles as a modern matron and registered manager, with experience spanning both hospital and community care.

As a single parent and grandmother of four, Julia balances her personal life with her passion for nursing. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, upholstery, and spending time with her pets on outdoor adventures. Julia’s diverse experience has equipped her with the skills to excel in complex care, ensuring every patient receives individualised, high-quality support.

Louise Dobson

Operations Director

Louise oversees our complex care operations across the UK and South Africa, bringing over 25 years of expertise in leading services and high-performing teams within the complex care sector. She began her career as a community-based Registered Nurse before transitioning into operational management in 1998. As a registered manager for a large corporate domiciliary care organisation, Louise developed a complex care division that went on to become the group’s flagship service.

Before progressing to the Director level, Louise held several senior operational leadership positions, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in complex care operations. Renowned within the sector, Louise is deeply committed to high-quality, person-centred care and operational excellence. Her focus on quality ensures it remains at the heart of everything she does.

Ashley Peterson

Clinical Lead

Ashley Peterson qualified as a nurse in 1999 at The Natal College of Nursing in South Africa, earning credentials in Psychiatry, Midwifery, Community Nursing, and General Nursing for adults and paediatrics. With extensive experience across hospital, community, and management settings, Ashley transitioned into complex care over 20 years ago, with a particular focus on palliative care for children and young adults.

Nursing has always been a deeply rewarding career for Ashley, who takes pride in collaborating with families to create care packages tailored to their unique needs. Having worked with both adults and children in diverse environments, Ashley brings compassion and expertise to every role she undertakes.

Georgina Berwick

Clinical Lead

Georgina qualified as a nurse in 1999 at De Montfort University in Leicester. She has worked across various hospital and community settings within the NHS before moving into complex care over four years ago. For Georgina, nursing has always been a rewarding journey, and she particularly enjoys working with families to build tailored care packages that meet their needs.

With experience caring for both adults and children in a variety of environments, Georgina brings both professional expertise and a personal touch to her work. Outside of her role, Georgina is a proud mum to two children and two dogs.

Dawn Rudgewick-Brown

Community Clinical Lead

Dawn brings over 20 years of childcare experience to her role, transitioning to social care in 2021. She joined OneCall24 in September 2023 as a Care Coordinator, managing staff rotas, before advancing to her current position as Community Care Lead for Cornwall. In this role, Dawn oversees daily operations for our complex care clients in Cornwall, ensuring that person-centred care is at the forefront.

Dawn is passionate about enabling clients to live life to the fullest while supporting and encouraging staff in their professional development. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for both clients and team members, striving for the best outcomes every day.

George Gilpin

Community Clinical Lead

George began his career in 2019 as a Healthcare Assistant, discovering a passion for community care. As a Community Care Lead, George is dedicated to delivering high-quality care to those in need. He supervises healthcare staff and oversees the daily operations of complex care packages, ensuring excellent service delivery. George’s priority is the continuous development of staff, fostering their growth to maintain exceptional care standards in the community.

Carly-Jo Tscherniawsky

Community Clinical Lead

Carly’s journey in health and social care began over 20 years ago, inspired by her desire to support her disabled brother better. Starting as a Carer, she advanced to managerial roles across complex care, learning disabilities, and elderly care. As a Community Clinical Lead, she enjoys mentoring team members, fostering professional growth, and creating a positive environment where clients can thrive. Carly is committed to collective efforts to enhance care, ensuring every client receives compassionate and personalised support.

Carly believes in championing personal choice and creating memorable, meaningful experiences for clients.

Chris Toureau

Business Development Manager

Chris brings a wealth of expertise in business strategy, operations, and change management, with a focus on innovation and transformative solutions. Now stepping into a pivotal role with OneCall24 Healthcare, he applies his strategic vision to enhance patient-centred care and improve care delivery. Chris is a collaborative leader, aligning operational and strategic priorities to drive efficiency and quality outcomes. With 25 years of experience in recruitment and six years in health and social care, Bryony blends relationship development, strategic vision, and a passion for care. As a Business Developer in the complex care sector, she focuses on creating environments where families and individuals feel genuinely cared for and understood.

Driven by her personal experience as a parent of an autistic son, Bryony brings empathy, collaboration, and tailored care solutions to her role. She is also committed to continuous professional development, recently completing her apprenticeship in Strategic Management to enhance her impact further.

Hello, I’m Sue, I started my working life as a healthcare assistant on a youth training scheme looking after children with complex needs. I qualified as a Registered General Nurse at Greenwich District Hospital in 1989. I started my complex care journey in 2012 managing packages for Spinal injuries ,Acquired brain injuries, adult and children’s complex conditions and injuries. I am passionate about my role and love to support clients to work ,play and enjoy life despite difficulties . I love to overcome challenges and understand working as part of team in someone’s home can feel intrusive, that’s why its so important to get the right personalities and skills for your situation. I am a mum to 5 children my youngest daughter has type 1 diabetes. I also love supporting my local sailing club as a safety power boat driver and I love walking my dalmatian in my spare time.

My Name is Deshina, I am the Service and Recruitment Manager for the Complex Care team based in South Africa, my career started 13 years ago in the healthcare sector. I have managed to merge my passion for healthcare and business, as I was one of the main contributors that assisted in starting Complex Care in the South African Market as a whole and have successfully open doors for more Complex and Critical care nursing at home for Adult and Paed, Going through the same as most of the families we assist, I understand the urgency and need for Complex care, my dedication and passion is driven by my own personal experience I, myself have dedicated my teen years to look after my mother who needed complex care, and in 2018 again I faced caring for my son who was critically ill from birth. I believe home heals, Complex Care allows families to continue to be families, while we take on the responsibility of nursing the patients, this also assist with families healing, the aim is to provide quality nursing care to patients limiting hospital visits. In my spare time I love Shopping, I have an eye for antique artifacts and rare art, I balance this out by doing archery classes with my son, all my spare time is spent with my loved ones.
