Health Care Assistant – Complex Care (Child)
Location – Bordon, Winchester
Pay Rates –£15.00 up to £22.00 per hour.
Shift – MUST be willing to work School shifts
All candidates MUST be drivers.
About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to support a child in their home by providing personal care, administering medication, and assisting with moving and handling. The role involves day and/or night shifts and delivering person-centred care to ensure the child’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing, with full support from qualified Nurse Managers.
We are looking for carers with experience in:
- Moving and Handling
- MAR Charts
- Complex care at home, working with either children, adults or both
- PEG
About the Client
Our client is a 9-year-old boy who is generally happy and enjoys interacting with his care team. He requires assistance with mobility and secretion management and is PEG-fed for both nutrition and medication throughout the day. He lives in a rural home with his family, with no access to public transport, so staff travel by car, and his parents have a van that allows him to go out in his wheelchair. He experienced severe birth asphyxia at term, resulting in whole-body cerebral palsy with dystonic movements and requiring a bespoke manual handling care plan. He also has learning difficulties, cortical visual impairment, gastro-oesophageal reflux, and recurrent chest infections. He is non-verbal but is able to communicate some of his needs through vocalizations and sounds.
